SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MONITORING AND CUTTING OFF PRIVATE DHCP SERVER

PURPOSE: A system and method for monitoring and cutting off a private DHCP server is provided to promote the quality of a service by preventing a private DHCP server from being constructed on the Internet network, by providing high-quality services to normal users, and by reducing expenses for dealing with frequent failures. CONSTITUTION: A DHCP(Dynamic Host Control Protocol) discover signal is transmitted(101). A DHCP offer signal is received(102). A MAC(Media Access Control) address of a DHCP server detected is detected(103). A MAC mapping table is made out(303). After that, the mapping table is repeatedly transmitted to an ARP(Address Resolution Protocol) transmission unit within an IP address field allocated to the Internet network(302). An RARP(Reverse Address Resolution Protocol) table is made out(301). A real IP address is obtained from an RARP server. A private DHCP server is detected(105). In case of being detected, the private DHCP server is cut off through an IP collision attack(201). A false response relevant to an ARP signal of the private DHCP server is performed(202). It is confirmed whether the private server is removed(203). In case that the private server isn't completely removed, the server performs a broadcasting of an ARP relevant to a gateway address(204). The private DHCP server is detected(205). A false response to the ARP signal is performed(206). Therefore, an operation of an illegal shared program is discontinued(207).
