PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a freezer/refrigerator showcase having openings for placing/ taking out articles of commerce in the upper and front surfaces and fixed with a front guard plate to the lower end edge of the opening in the front surface in which workability can be enhanced by fixing the front guard plate easily to the side plate while ensuring fixing strength of the front guard plate and enhancing safety of the showcase, and in which external view of the showcase can be prevented from being damaged even if the front guard plate is secured to the side plate. SOLUTION: A showcase body 1 constructed of a heat insulating wall of substantially L-shaped cross-section having openings 2 for placing/taking out articles of commerce in the front and upper surfaces is closed, at the side part thereof, with a side plate 3 and a front guard plate 4 is fixed to the lower end edge of the opening 2. In such a freezer/refrigerator showcase, a groove 8 is made as a recess to be fitted with the side end part of the front guard plate 4 on the inside of the side plate 3 and the recess is inserted with the end part of the front guard plate 4 thus securing the front guard plate 4 to the lower edge of the opening 2.
