PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a unit holding device for an image forming device, which prevents a positioning means for positioning and holding units from being lost and damaged and eliminates time and effort required to position and hold the mounted units. SOLUTION: An inner cover 63 is attached to a front side plate 58 of the main body A of the image forming device. A leading end of an arm 67 of the positioning means 66 is disposed in a mounting recess 65 of the inner cover, thereby making the positioning means free to turn around a mounting shaft formed at the leading end. A positioning member 71 of the positioning means has four positioning holes 75 and four positioning holes 76. When the positioning means 66 is closed in order to position the units, an image carrier shaft 47 and a roller shaft 55, which serve as positioning reference for the corresponding units, enter the corresponding positioning holes. Thus, the image carrier unit 12 and a developing unit 13 is positioned and supported by the positioning means.
