The connector (1) for a chip card comprises a bottom frame (2) with integrated spring contacts (3) and an articulated cover (4) having on its side opposite to a pivotal axis (6) a locking projection (7) which can be bent in the plane of cover perpendicular to the pivotal axis so that the free extremity (8) of projection in the closed position is engaged with a corresponding edge projection (5) on the front edge of the bottom frame. The locking projection in the plane of the cover is accompanied with a touch area (9) of an extension accommodation in an opening (11) in the cover and having a pattern of openings (10) for easier handling. The touch area is mobile within the opening in the cover, which is mobile between the locked position and a free position. At least one lateral edge, which is perpendicular to the pivotal axis, of the cover (4) or of the bottom frame (2) is with an elastic element set active in an opening so to lift the cover after unlocking.
