PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup device which is thin and inexpensive and to provide a method for manufacturing an optical pickup device. SOLUTION: The optical pickup device 1 is equipped with a semiconductor laser 2 as the light source, substrate 3, rising mirror 4 and objective 5 or the like and also equipped with a photodetector or the like. An optical disk 6 is disposed above the objective 5. The rising mirror 4 is manufactured by forming a slope form on a substrate 3 by using a photoresist, transferring the slope form of the photoresist to the substrate 3 by dry etching, and forming a reflection film on the slope transferred to the substrate 3. Thus, the rising mirror 4 as well as the optical pickup device 1 can be made small in size and thin and inexpensive with high reliability. |
