PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the number of the display colors of a display unit in correspondence with the operation mode of radio telephone apparatus or the kind of display data so as to reduce power consumption in the display unit while maintaining the display performance of the telephone apparatus. SOLUTION: To a drive circuit 301 and a drive circuit 302, data signals from a control circuit 204 are parallelly inputted and a drive voltage from a power source circuit 205 is uniformly supplied. The number of the display colors of the drive circuit 302 is set smaller than the number of the display colors of the drive circuit 301. In this case, a base band signal processing part 110 controls a power source so as to drive the drive circuit 301 in the case that the number of the display colors requested by contents is larger than the number of the display colors set in the drive circuit 302 and to drive the drive circuit 302 in the case that it is smaller. |
