<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display having improved image quality by preventing deterioration in transistor characteristics due to light from a back light without increasing the capacitance between a gate and a source, and between the gate and a drain. SOLUTION: A shielding region comprising the same layer as a semiconductor layer for forming a channel layer is formed near a channel region, thus preventing the deterioration in the transistor characteristics due to the light from the back light without increasing the capacitance between the gate and source, and the gate and drain, and hence obtaining the liquid crystal display having the improved image quality.</p> |
