<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a graphical user interface for displaying a plurality of icons, which includes a desktop for conceptually providing thereby a three- dimensional surface for the icons. SOLUTION: The surface is represented on a two-dimensional display, and navigation for a desktop is supported by simulating rotation of the desktop in a three-dimensional space. The desktop is displayed in an apparent distance from a user's view point, and the respective icons are displayed in respective apparent distances based on the apparent distance and respective positions of the plurality of icons on the three-dimensional surface. Each of the plurality of icons is scaled by the related apparent distance to change the apparent distance between the view point and the desktop.</p> |
