The monitoring system uses a video camera device (4) installed at the project line location for providing image data for the project line, fed via a data line, e.g. the internet (10) to a display monitor (11) at a remote location. The video camera can be controlled via a computer, e.g a personal computer, the image data fed to a computer monitor. An Independent claim for a method for monitoring a project line installation point is also included.
