Memory management of semiconductor type memory in which the advantages or ROM, i.e. high speed access, are combined with the flexibility of RAM where necessary

Memory management program (2) works with a controller, or CPU, (1), to control its access to ROM (3) and re- writable memory, or RAM, (4). The program works to redirect ROM memory access to a RAM address where corresponding addresses have been set up in a linking table. If there is no such linking address the contents of ROM memory are used as normal. An independent claim is made for a method for managing memory data in which memory data is essentially stored in ROM, but according to requirements an area of RAM is set up in which data in ROM memory areas are replaced by data in corresponding RAM memory areas. The method controls redirecting of memory access calls.
