<p>The invention concerns an installation for making secure the use of transaction media (5) between buyers and merchant terminals (2) through a communication network. Each medium (5) is associated with at least a primary identifier (IPA) designating a buyer's account and a device (6) comprising first transforming means delivering a secondary identifier (ISA) representing a primary identifier (IPA), and having the latter's format. Input means enable a buyer to select objects and/or services offered by the merchant terminal (2), associated with a transaction amount, and to input a secondary identifier (ISA) delivered by the device (6) associated with its medium (5). Each merchant terminal (2) is designed to transmit to a payment terminal (3) the input secondary identifier (ISA), the amount of the transaction and a merchant account identifier. The payment terminal (3) comprises second transforming means capable of determining the primary identifier represented by a received secondary identifier, so as to debit the buyer account, designated by the primary identifier, to credit the merchant's account designated by the received merchant account identifier.</p> |
