RFID RECYCLING SYSTEM AND METHOD

A recycling method for reusable product identification devices is provided which includes: monitoring sales of products having reusable product identification devices; determining, based on monitored sales, when the product identification devices should be returned to a party; monitoring the return of the identification devices; and performing accounting functions in connection with the return of the identification devices. The identification devices are preferably RFID tags or devices. A redemption center is used to sort the RFID devices by owner and return the RFID devices to the rightful owner for reuse on other products.
