PURPOSE: An outdoor unit for split air conditioner is provided to allow the outdoor unit to be directly mounted to the outer wall of a building without using a support structure. CONSTITUTION: An outdoor unit(20) comprises a base pan(22) forming a bottom surface of the outdoor unit; components mounted to the base pan, and which constitute a heat exchange cycle; an outer panel for protecting the components mounted to the base pan, and which constitutes a part of the outer appearance of the outdoor unit; and a rear panel(50) constituting a rear surface of the outer appearance of the outdoor unit, and which has a coupling portion(54) protruded outward so as to allow the outdoor unit to be directly coupled to an outer wall(F) of a building. The coupling protrusion maintains a gap formed between the outer wall of the building and the rear panel, such that an air smoothly flows through an inlet hole(52) formed at the rear panel. |
