The object of the invention is to provide a boiler using coal, oil or gas as its fuel. This boiler is installed at an incline and has a plurality of grate pipes (16, 16a) containing water and arranged in the lower portion of the combustion chamber (20). The grate pipes (16, 16a) support lump coal in the combustion chamber. Thus improving thermal efficiency of the boiler. A fire pipe (14) axially extends within a water pipe (11, 11a) thereby forming a double-pipe structure. During operation of the boiler steam from the water pipes (11, 11a) passes through a reheating unit (44) installed in the combustion chamber (20). This boiler also has a cleaning unit for automatically removing sludge from the fire pipes (14). The boiler effectively uses lump coal which is inexpensive and has a high energy value, in addition to oil or gas as its fuel.
