PURPOSE: A washing machine is provided to reduce the number of component parts related to the power transmission for simplifying the clutch structure, thereby carrying out the reliable power transmission. CONSTITUTION: A washing machine includes a fixed clutch element(41) located between a pulsator(15) and a brake unit(33) to be rotatively and integrally coupled with a spin basket shaft(31) of a spin basket(13), a movable clutch element(25) spline-coupled with a driving shaft(29) of a driving motor(17) to rotate integrally with the driving shaft and slidable along an axial line direction to be engaged with the fixed clutch element when lowered, thereby rotating integrally with the fixed clutch element, and a floating element(23) connected to the movable clutch element and received in the pulsator to lift or lower according to the water level.
