<p>An ultrasonic data acquisition apparatus (10) and transfer in real-time. The apparatus (10) has a server computer (14) connected to on-site ultrasonic data acquisition hardware (12) and a communications medium. The server computer (14) comprises residential communication software and on-site data acquisition software for interacting with and communicating the ultrasonic data from the ultrasonic data acquisition hardware. The apparatus further comprises a client computer (20) that is electronically connected to the same communications medium as the server computer (14). The client computer (20) includes data acquisition and processing software, which enables it to interact with and access the ultrasonic data from the ultrasonic data acquisition hardware, in real time. The method converts ultrasonic data acquired by the data acquisition hardware to command packets, which define, prioritize and configure the ultrasonic data for interaction with a client program. These command packets are small packets that are attached to digital data packets and are transferred in real time from the server computer (14), via the communications means, to the client computer (20). The data is subsequently displayed and can be interacted and controlled by the client computer (20).</p> |
