The absorber (1) has a concrete plate provided at one end face with a symmetrical recess (19), into which a pipe projects from the body of the concrete plate, for coupling to a flexible elastic hose section projecting from the flat end face of an adjacent concrete plate via a threaded coupling washer (5). The interior of the concrete plate contains a number of parallel plastics pipes for a heat transfer medium, extending between its opposite ends parallel to the central axis, its surface provided with a solar radiation absorbing material.
