PURPOSE: An audio data recording managing and reproducing method of a rewritable recording medium is provided to additionally record index audio as voice audio of a user to easily confirm contents of audio/video programs recorded in a mass rewritable recording medium, and to designate part blocks of the pre-recorded audio/video data as index audio. CONSTITUTION: A request of reproducing index audio for audio/video programs recorded in a rewritable recording medium is received. Position information recorded in cell information indicating whole blocks or part blocks of an audio/video program is sequentially identified. Whether the identified position information is on an audio block for index is checked and a corresponding position is searched, to selectively reproduce audio data of a corresponding block. The step of searching positions and selectively reproducing data is performed for each cell information. Whether identification information indicating that the position information recorded in the cell information is on the audio block for index is identified. And if the identification information indicates information on the audio block for index, the position information is used as information on the audio block for index.
