PURPOSE: A suction grille attachment structure for air conditioner is provided to achieve improved aesthetic enhancement for the front surface of air conditioner by preventing suction grilles from being distorted. CONSTITUTION: A suction grille attachment structure comprises front grilles(70) having a space for accommodating a chassis(52), a cross flow fan and a heat exchanger(58), and which are disposed side by side in front of the chassis; suction grilles(80) hinge-coupled to the front surfaces of front grilles such that the suction grilles are rotatable, and which have inlet ports(82) for sucking indoor air, and grilles(84) arranged in the inlet ports; and a distortion prevention unit(90) interposed between suction grilles and front grilles, so as to prevent grilles of suction grilles from being distorted by the vertical movement of the suction grilles.
