The knitted material is made of a yarn which has been dyed at the spinning stage. The stages are as follows: production of yarn (1'), knitting the yarn (2'), consolidation of the knitted material (3'), and fixing the material on to a base (4'). The yarn count exceeds 50 and the material weighs 80-130 g/m<2>. To create a vehicle ceiling, the knitted product is joined to a foam of a suitable color.
