摘要 PURPOSE: Provided is a process for producing ethylene polymers and copolymers having high apparent density and narrow molecular weight distribution by using a catalyst with high activity. CONSTITUTION: The process is performed in the presence of a solid titanium catalyst, II group and III group organic metal compounds in the periodic table, and a cyclic nitrogen compound such as 2,6-lutidine. The solid titanium catalyst is produced by a process comprising the steps of: preparing a magnesium compound solution by reacting a magnesium halogenide compound and an alcohol; reacting the resultant with an ester compound containing at least one hydroxy group and a silicon compound having an alkoxy group, wherein the ester compound is 2-hydroxy ethylacrylate and the silicon compound is dimethyl dimethoxy silane; reacting the resultant with a mixture of a titanium compound such as titanium tetrachloride and a silicon compound such as silicon tetrachloride.
