A method of displaying a picture file (308) on a cellular telephone (102), the method comprising the steps of receiving a picture file at the cellular telephone; storing the picture file in a memory (306) of the cellular telephone; and displaying the picture file as a screen saver on a display (104) of the cellular telephone when a screen saver condition is detected.
