PURPOSE: A steel structure for a tire and tire applying the steel structure for a tire is provided to control breakdown between rubber and cord and to prevent breakdown and stress concentration of the main belt layer of a protection belt layer. CONSTITUTION: In a steel structure using to a protection belt layer, the steel structure is composed of one selected from 3 times d1 plus 8 times d2 plus w or 3 times d1 plus 8 times d2(d1,d2 mean diameter and w means wrap). The d1 or d2 is from 0.15mm to 0.32mm. The lay length of 3 cord is from 2mm to 8mm and the lay length of 8 cord is from 4mm to 12.5mm. In using the steel cord to a chafer of a tire or a protection belt, from 6 to 15 steel cords are arranged per 1inch and the thickness of rubber coated to the steel cord is from 1.4mm to 2.8mm. The rubber-penetration performance between rubber and cord is excellent and the breakdown between rubber and cord is controlled.
