PURPOSE: An apparatus for blocking outflow of molten steel in an electric furnace is provided which prevents a portion damaged by the molten steel at the outer skin through the cutting of a sensing wire when an outer skin of the electric furnace is damaged by the molten steel. CONSTITUTION: In an electric furnace melting scraps inside a body of the furnace in which bricks are constructed at the inner part of an outer skin(36), the apparatus for blocking outflow of molten steel in an electric furnace comprises a hopper(42) in which a sealant(48) is filled, and which is closely adhered onto the outer skin; a blocking plate(44) on which a catching rise(44b) is formed, wherein the catching rise is movably vertically installed at the hopper(42); a door(46) one side of which is fixed to the lower part of the hopper by a hinge, and on the other side of which a catching protrusion(46a) is formed correspondingly to the catching rise(44b); and a sensing wire(52) one end of which is fixed onto the surface of the outer skin(36), a middle part of which passes through a plurality of supporting ends(54) that are installed at the outer skin, and the other end of which is fixed onto the blocking plate(44), wherein the apparatus further comprises a control part(60) in which a conductive wire is installed inside the sensing wire(52), and which is conducted with the conductive wire installed sensing wire.
