PURPOSE: A parking brake apparatus of a vehicle is provided to always maintain optimum tension state and to improve safety of a vehicle by installing a tension control unit to automatically control tension of cables. CONSTITUTION: A parking brake apparatus of a vehicle has a cable tension control unit(100). The cable tension control unit comprises a tension control unit(40), a tension-sensing unit(50), an ECU(Electronic Control Unit), and a hydraulic supply unit(70). One side of the tension control unit is coupled with cables rod(20) connected with an equalizer, and the other side passes through a support bracket(31) coupled to the vehicle body and with the other side is coupled with the cable rod and controls tension of the loose cables. The tension-sensing unit is installed between the tension control unit and the support bracket and senses the tension state of the cables. The ECU analyzes the signals transmitted from the tension-sensing unit and a vehicle speed sensor(32) and decides the tension state of the cables. The hydraulic supply unit is connected by the tension control unit, an inflow port(71), and an outflow port(72) and supplies air pressure into the tension control unit by the control signals of the ECU.
