PURPOSE: A contents charge billing agent method and a system using an ARS(Automatic Response System) are provided to make a communication network businessman collect charge for the contents provision and pay to respective contents providers by enabling a user to pay for the contents by connecting to the ARS with a main payment telephone number. CONSTITUTION: The system includes a billing certification computer(34) paying the charge for the charged contents use of the user by assigning an intrinsic telephone number to respective contents providers and at least one or more contents provider computer(28) providing the charged contents to the users through the communication network system(42). The contents provider computer registers the main payment telephone number inputted by the user and provides the certification number to the user. The payment certification computer pays for a specific amount with the telephone charge of the main payment telephone number by comparing the main payment telephone number and certification number registered by the user, transmits the payment result to the contents provider computer, and provides the contents in proportion to the payment amount of the received payment result through the contents provider computer.
