<p>A device for anchoring a buckle to the end portion of a leather strap does not require the leather strap to be sewed or riveted and may assembled and disassembled in an extremely simple manner without particular tools and without damaging the leather, because it comprises a metal body rotably installed on the cross pin of the buckle having a fork shaped cross section tail, the outer faces of the two wings of which are tapered such to make their end portions almost flush with the plane of the respective surfaces of the leather strap. The slot of the fork substantially is as wide as the thickness of the leather strap except at a point in which the slot narrows between two counteropposed ridges or transversal projections that may have the profile of a cusp such to define therebetween a necking of the gap. The leather of the strap is locally deformed by pinching it (embossing), using a specially made tool or even nippers for compressing it and cause the formation of a transversal necking at a certain distance from the terminal edge of the strap. The so embossed end portion of the strap is then inserted inside the gap of the fork-shaped tail portion of the metal body by pushing it laterally into it.</p> |
