The method is carried out and these acceleration signals and-or the signals derived from them are compared with trigger threshold (s) (yfire) and a decision regarding the triggering of the occupant protection units is met. It ensures that the trigger thresholds (Yfire0/Yfire1) or the trigger decision are matched depending on the direction selective parameters. The trigger thresholds are increased (Yfire0 - Yfire1) or the release is suppressed. On a local maximum (ymax1) of the acceleration signal and-or of the signals derived from this in a direction (+y/-y). An acceleration signal and-or a signal derived from this results in an opposed direction (-y/+y) with raised amplitude (y(t3) ymax1) as the first maximum. |
