PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for processing charging data between network businessmen is provided to perform a charging function by generating charging data used for estimating the charge according to the use of a signaling network resource between network businessmen, and by collecting the charging data and performing charging functions. CONSTITUTION: A signal message processing unit(15) is equipped in an SMHP(Signaling Message Handling Processor,10) of a signal transit exchange. In addition, the signal message processing unit(15) generates charging data. A charging data processing unit(23) makes a request for transmitting the charging data to the signal message processing unit(15) at regular time intervals. In addition, the charging data processing unit(23) collects the charging data transmitted from the signal message processing unit(15). A memory queue(25) temporarily stores the charging data collected. A charging disk(30) receives the charging data transmitted from the memory queue(25) in the unit of block and stores the data. A DAT(Digital Audio Tape,40) stores the charging data transmitted from the charging disk(30). A TMN(Telecommunication Management Network,50) transmits the charging data to a signal network management system.
