Bicyclic triazolone derivatives represented by the general formula (I) and exhibiting excellent selective herbicidal activity, and herbicides containing the same: J - Ar (I) wherein J is J-1 J-2 J-3 J-4 J-5 J-6 J-7 J-8 Ar is Ar-1 Ar-2 Ar-3 Ar-4 Ar-5 Ar-6 R1, R2, and R4 to R8 are each hydrogen, C1-6 alkyl, or the like; R3 is halogeno or the like; and R9 is alkyl or the like.
