An extrusion-molded hollow polyethylene container which is a layered product comprising a layer comprising a copolymer of a polycyclic olefin, a layer comprising high-density polyethylene, an adhesive layer, a layer comprising an aromatic polyamide resin, an adhesive layer, and a layer of linear low-density polyethylene, the layer of linear low-density polyethylene being the innermost layer of the container. The container is excellent in barrier properties and aroma retention and is environmentally satisfactory. It is useful for packing, e.g., a high-quality liquid food to which flavor is important.
