The invention concerns an orthosis comprising two maxillary (2, 3) and mandibular (2', 3') splints mutually linked by at least a linking element (10) removably arranged between a recessed point of one of the splints and an advanced point of the other; the linking element is a rigid elongated element removably articulated on the splints, selected between, during a first phase corresponding to the step which consists in determining or testing the effective mandibular advanced position, an actuator (10) adapted to be connected to a control circuit (5), and, in a second phase corresponding to the final orthosis, a connecting rod with fixed length determined on the basis of the efficient mandibular lead which has been determined.
