A system and method for creating a network of computer devices to facilitate the operation of an information distribution system. The system comprises a network operating center, a data collection system, a data distribution system, and a client installation. Data collected from publishers is distributed to client installations depending o n orders placed. The system is configured so as to provide a communication platform that is centrally managed and controlled. The system further includes a monitoring system for tracking the flow of information and a database for the archiving of data.
