The invention relates to the electrothermics and can be used in manufacturing and maintenance of self-caking electrodes. A case of the self-caking electrode, preferably of round or oval section involves metal shell with inner longitudinal ribs being fixed on transverse ribs. The longitudinal ribs are remote from the shell at the distance equal to 0.05-0.495 of diameter or smaller shell cross-section axis. The longitudinal ribs cross-section total surface is of 0.001û 0.020 of the electrode cross-section. Electrodes service durability increase is provided.
