The invention relates to configuration management and updating a directory service in a distributed platform. The known LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) is used for managing the configuration directories of processes and CNS (Corba Notification Service) for handling the notifications of changes in the configuration directories. The configuration directories are situated in a directory service, which is a physically distributed, logically centralized repository (containing databases). Processes, monitoring elements and management elements, etc. use the directory service to get configuration information for their use. When there are changes in the configuration directory of a node, a notification message concerning the change is sent to CNS. CNS distributes the notification message to the processes that are interested in knowing the change. |
