PURPOSE: A waterweed islet is provided to prevent the hanging of impurities flown from the upper stream of a river, and consequently to facilitate the growth of aquatic plants and the spawning of fish within the waterweed. CONSTITUTION: In the waterweed islet constructed to be floated along a watercourse of a river, the upper stream end of the waterweed located toward the upper stream of the river is provided with a plate(33) capable of preventing the hanging of impurities. The lower end of the plate is hinged to a fixing shaft(44) through a support member(22) fixed to the shaft, thus it is possible to appropriately adjust the floating position of the waterweed in order to prevent the hanging of impurities flown from the upper stream of the river.
