PURPOSE: A billing processing method in a switching system is provided to rapidly and inexpensively transmit the billing data stored in an MT(Magnetic Tape) to a billing adjustment office by storing billing data, not stored in a billing disk as the billing disk was in an abnormal state, in the billing disk in the form of a temporary file if the billing disk is restored, after reading the billing data from local MT information and storing the data in a header. CONSTITUTION: If detailed billing information for a completed call is received to a billing processing part from a call control part(S31), a billing collection part in the billing processing part processes the received billing information into a billing record and stores it in a local variable(S32) and judges whether the number of billing records stored in the local variable is equal to a preset reference number to form a billing block(S33). In case that the number of stored billing records is equal to the reference number, the billing collection part stores the billing data block, the billing records stored in the local variable, in a billing memory part(S34). The billing processing part confirms whether a relevant billing disk is normal. In case that the billing disk is in an abnormal state, a billing storage part stores the first number and last number of each billing block not stored in the billing disk in local MT information. An MT reads the billing data not stored in the billing disk from the local MT information. If the billing disk is restored, the MT stores the billing data in the billing disk in the form of a temporary file(S40).
