In the present invention there is disclosed a process for producing silicone pastes with improved storage stability and being cured by elimination of acetic acid and which are prepared using an anionically polymerized polysiloxane containing alkali metal phosphates, which comprises adding to a silicone paste an acidic additive having functional residues of sulfuric acid or hydrogen chloride in a concentration sufficient to convert the alkali metal phosphates into the alkali metal salts of the acidic additives with alkali metals.
