<p>An arrangement for filtering liquids containing impurities comprises a number of filter elements (4) in a filter housing (6), especially hollow cylindrical filter candles, and primary and secondary chambers (1,2). The liquid to be filtered is in the primary chamber, and the filtered liquid is in the secondary chamber. A pressurized gas is fed into the secondary chamber to backflush the filter element.
