<p>The invention provides a computing apparatus relative to simultaneous linear equations having a preconditioning process which completes a high-precision calculation in a short time. The computing apparatus includes a data input part into which input information as to a coefficient matrix A of simultaneous linear equations, a preconditioning part which finds a preconditioned matrix C relative to the coefficient matrix A, a computation part which performs a computation by using the inputted coefficient matrix A and the found preconditioned matrix C, and an output part which outputs the computation result. The preconditioning part includes a first processing part which decomposes the coefficient matrix A into submatrices D, a second processing part which calculates norms of the decomposed submatrices D, a third processing part which stores the positions of elements which constitute the one of the submatrices D whose calculated norm is greater than the value of a preset norm, a fourth processing part which adds, to a matrix S formed on the basis of the positions of the stored elements, position information as to matrix elements which change from zero to nonzero when the matrix S is computed, and a fifth processing part which finds the preconditioned matrix C by computing the added matrix. <IMAGE></p> |
