PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer and a printer management system in which printing on an alternative printer can be started quickly upon occurrence of a trouble in one printer. SOLUTION: The printer comprises means (a CPU 10 and an alternative printer print processing program) for determining a printer having characteristics identical or similar to those of a printer in which a trouble has occurred as an alternative printer based on information stored in a printer characteristics storing means, and means (the CPU 10, a communication section 15 and the alternative printer print processing program) for transmitting print output data stored in a receiving/storing means to an alternative printer determined by the alternative printer determining means. |
