PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat-resistant and flame-retardant resin composition having enough flame-retardancy and excellent heat-resistance together with excellent mechanical properties such as abrasion resistance and tensile elongation with flexibility, and not generating halogenic gas upon incineration. SOLUTION: This resin composition comprises 30 to 200 pts.wt. of a metal hydrate to 100 pts.wt. of a mixture comprising a polyolefin resin, a modified polyolefin resin, a modified thermoplastic elastomer both modified by an unsaturated carboxylic acid or its derivative and polymethylpentene, which never generates halogenic gas, and where a strong adhesive interlayer is formed between the metal hydrate and the modified position of the modified polyolefin and the modified thermoplastic elastomer, resulting in improved compatibility between the metal hydrate and each polymer, thus mechanical properties and flexibility are improved without affecting flame-retardancy, also high melting point polymethylpentene contributes to improvement of heat-resistance.
