PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low cost and high performance acryl-modified urethane resin satisfying the performances such as anti-blocking, solvent resistance, water proof and the like together with realizing rationalization of the production process by dispensing with solvent removal stage. SOLUTION: This method of producing an aqueous acryl-modified urethane resin comprises the steps of reacting (a) an organic polyisocyanate, (b) a polyol and (c) a compound forming ionic group in (d) an acrylic monomer which is not reactive with isocyanate group, to produce an urethane prepolymer having isocyanate terminal group, dispersing the product in water in the presence of a nonion type hydrophilic acrylic monomer expressed by general formula (1) below, extending urethane prepolymer chain, and radically polymerizing the acrylic monomer. R1-O-(R2-O)n-R3 (1) (R1 represents an allyl group, an acryloyl group or a methacryloyl group, R2 represents an ethylene group, a propylene group or a butylene group, R3 represents a hydrogen atom, a methyl group, an ethyl group, a propyl group, a butyl group, a phenyl group, an acryloyl group or a methacryloyl group, and n is an integer of 2 to 40).
