PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a prize lifting device in a simple structure which is miniaturized and is not required to be disassembled in order to be restored to a normal state when abnormality is generated. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a pair of hand attaching gears (2a and 2b) freely turnably journaled on a base plate (1) and engaged with each other and a transmission gear (7) with an overload preventing mechanism to be normally and reversely rotated within a prescribed angle range by a motor (8) attached to the base plate (1) for transmitting the rotational drive force to one (2b) of the pair of the hand attaching gears. The transmission gear (7) with the overload preventing mechanism is constituted of two pieces of gears which are a first gear (71) to be rotated by rotary force transmitted from the motor (8) and a second gear (72) engaged with one (2b) of the pair of the hand attaching gears. The two pieces of the gears are freely rotatably held on a common rotary shaft (73) in the state of being pressurized to each other by spring force. When excessive loads are applied to the second gear (72), the connection of both gears is lost and the first gear (71) idles.
