PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flushing method for ink jet recorder, and an ink jet recorder, in which staining with ink mist is suppressed by avoiding adhesion of ink mist ejected from a recording heat to the nozzle opening plane of a recording head, internal mechanism of the recorder, a print sheet, or the like. SOLUTION: In the flushing method for ink jet recorder where ink is ejected by delivering a flushing drive signal to an ink jet recording head 18 carried on a carriage moving in the widthwise direction of a recording sheet and forming an image on a recording medium by ejecting ink drops I from nozzle openings 18a, ink mist is sucked by driving a suction pump 10 coupled with a capping means 9 for receiving ejected ink I during flushing drive of the recording head 18. |
