PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for setting the molded article release position of a molded article ejector capable of simply and efficiently setting the data related to the release position of a molded article for a short time when the molded article is encased and ejected in an ejection cycle to make ejection work efficient. SOLUTION: The chuck for holding the molded article is controlled in its movement between the mold of a molding machine and the release position outside the molding machine and houses the molded article in a large number of housing sections, which are arranged and formed in the housing container in a matrix form, arranged at the release position and takes out the same from the housing sections. When the molded article release position of the chuck housing the molded article in each housing section is set, the position of the specific housing section in the housing container is inputted as a reference position. On the basis of a reference position, the preset dimension data of the molded article and the preset dimension data of the housing container, the release position data of the position of other each housing section is operationally processed to be set.
