PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the efficiency of the work for mounting a ceiling jet type automatic fire extinguisher on the rear side of a ceiling. SOLUTION: The downward jet type automatic fire extinguisher is mounted by the following processes. (1) main body of the fire extinguisher and two bridges separated from the main body of the fire extinguisher are inserted into opening formed on the ceiling on which the fire extinguisher is to be mounted, a horizontal flat board is put on each cradling, and the two bridges with stoppers on the outside are arranged symmetrically at an interval wide enough for the main body of the fire extinguisher to be inserted into. (2) The main body of the fire extinguisher with a main body cover is inserted into the rear side of the ceiling from between the bridges with a sensor for sensing abnormally high temperature and a nozzle for jetting fire extinguishing liquid on the lower side. (3) Recesses in the bridges are engaged with attaching parts on the main body cover, and the four corners are fastened with screws. (4) A decorative cover for covering openings on the ceiling formed corresponding to the positions abutting to the sensor and the nozzle is attached, and a fixing bolt is tightened with a tightening member.
