PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method to image a subject using a multi-slice type computed tomography(CT) imaging system which is equipped with a radiation source, a detector including a plurality of detector rows, and wherein each detector row is perpendicular to a z-direction, and has a thickness in the z direction. SOLUTION: In this method, a radiation beam (16) from the radiation source (14) is collimated into a plurality of separate beam portions (70, 74 and 78), which cross the z-direction. Then, the separate beam portions pass through the subject, and impinge on the detector row (80, 82, 84, 86, 88, 90, 92 and 94). Thus, the subject is scanned using the plurality of separate beam portions, and projection data is collected. Then, the image of the subject is reconstructed utilizing the collected projection data. |
