PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize ideal reduction of deceleration of an occupant at a collision and to obtain compatibility between reduced dimensions of a body and a lowered injury value of the occupant. SOLUTION: A first displacement member 9 is provided within a front side member 7 for displacement associated with compressive deformation, and a second displacement member 10 is provided substantially parallel to the first displacement member for displacement occurring after the displacement of the first displacement member. A pinion 11 is provided between racks 9a, 10a provided to the respective displacement members. A pair of bell cranks 11a, 11b is mounted to the pinion and connected to a seat 4 via cables 12, 13, and a stopper 16 is provided to regulate the amount of displacement of the first displacement member. Thus, the seat can be moved rearward and forward by a simple structure using the first and second displacement members which can be displaced independently according to the compressive deformation of an impact absorbing member, an interior of a vehicle can be prevented as much as possible from getting smaller due to the placement of the device, and miniaturization of the body can be furthered.
