PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide gabions and the method of installation of gabions capable of easily and economically simulate greening for the surface of the gabion and harmonize the works with the surrounding environment in appearance. SOLUTION: A side wire net 12a is erected at the peripheral edge of the bottom net 11, the main bodies of the gabions 1 extended outwardly from the side wire net are mutually coupled together and arranged side by side in a part of the bottom wire netting, auxiliary gabions 2 constituted with other side netting and net members are attached to the side wire net 12a of the main body of the gabions, the main body 1 of each gabion with the top opened is filled with a filler 4, and a vegetative base material 5 is placed in each auxiliary gabion works 2. Thereafter, planter 6 are planted in the vegetative base material 5 for the greening purpose.
